As a former award-winning PBS television news reporter and videographer I have had the ability to report on thousands of people and cover issues and stories affecting residents locally, statewide and throughout the nation.  While attending the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, I worked as a reporter/videographer/producer and anchor at WOUB, the local PBS affiliate. Once I graduated, I began working as a one-man-band senior reporter at northwest Indiana's only local television station, Lakeshore Public Television. There I covered the day's top story, breaking news and special reports. In this position I produced a two-time award-winning special report on emergency vehicle safety,  coveredPresident Barack Obama's five campaign stops and presidential speeches throughout Indiana, reported on the mourning of Michael Jackson's passing in his hometown of Gary, IN and had the ability to fly in B-17 bombers, ride with the Budweiser Clydesdales and make an impact as a public figure in many lives. In addition, I was the station's weekly health reporter and served as the state's only female one-man-band statehouse news reporter, covering issues affecting our region from the legislature in Indianapolis. I was promoted to Assignment Manager and department lead at the station before transplanting myself here to the Twin Cities. Today you can find me freelancing for various Patches, consulting on media strategy and public relations for local non-profits and working as a health and wellness marketing communications specialist.
