Aubrey Tauer was born and raised in southeast Minneapolis and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine after studying Ecology for her Bachelors degree at the same institution. While in veterinary school, Dr. Tauer was enrolled in a dual degree program with the School of Public Health to cross-train veterinarians with medical and public health students and equip them with the skills to participate in research and policy pertaining to human health, culminating in a Master of Public Health. Aubrey has worked extensively with wildlife both clinically and in the wild, and has traveled multiple times to Africa and Central America to study primates. She has also worked in Seattle as an emergency and critical care veterinarian for cats and dogs, and completed a wildlife research fellowship at a zoo in Chicago last year. She is now back home in Minnesota practicing small animal and exotic animal medicine while continuing her research career. Aubrey has a strong passion for education and research into how human health, animal health, and the environment are closely linked.
