Homeschool Activities at Three Rivers Parks
From ice fishing to snowshoeing to winter survival, homeschoolers have a variety of educational options Jan. 23-30, 2013 at parks in the Three Rivers Park District.
The following was provided by Three Rivers Park District Homeschool Wonders of Water: Ice, Snow, and Fishing Wednesday, Jan. 23, from 9:30 a.m.- noon, at Fish Lake Regional Park, Maple Grove. As water freezes, the way that ice and snow forms changes Minnesota’s landscape in drastic and important ways. Examine the effects of this process, why it happens, and what plants and animals do to cope. Use molecular models, thermometers, exploded soda cans, and outdoor examples in investigations. Then walk out on the frozen water of Fish Lake and try ice fishing. Cost is $5 and this program is for ages 8-18. Reference activity number #115923-00.
