One local business made it into a coveted 2013 Super Bowl ad spot during the Feb. 3 game between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers.
Former Golden Valley-based Renters Warehouse scored a 30-second advertising spot during the 2013 Super Bowl. The ad aired Feb. 3 and was a first for the Renters Warehouse, reported Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. The business owner expected the regional ad “to be seen by nearly 2 million people” during the 2013 Super Bowl, according to the StarTribune.com. Watch the video commercial above. After three years in Golden Valley, Renters Warehouse moved to Minnetonka in mid-January. Before Super Bowl XLVII kicks off at 5:30 p.m. central time Feb. 3, 2013, here’s a few places in Golden Valley you can pick up snacks before the big game between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers.
On Feb. 3, Super Bowl Sunday XLVII will commence. Some people look forward to the game, the funny commercials and the halftime show (Destiny’s Child reunion!). But others are solely there for the wings, the nachos and the pizza—and rightfully so. There’s something about Super Bowl food that gives the day an almost Thanksgiving-like aura. Both events boast a big, communal meal—except on Super Bowl Sunday, it’s usually deep fried and covered in Buffalo sauce. Former Golden Valley-based Renters Warehouse reportedly scored a 30-second advertising spot during the 2013 Super Bowl, reports StarTribune.com. The ad, which will air Feb. 3, is a first for the former Golden Valley business, reported Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. Renters Warehouse CEO Brenton Hayden told the StarTribune he expects the regional ad to be seen by nearly two million people. The 30-second ad reportedly cost about $60,000. "We're having fun showing people how many hats they have to wear as a landlord, from a lawyer to a handyman," he told StarTribune. "I think it will give us a positive return that will be measurable. Time is running out to set the menu of munchies for your Super Bowl party, so Patch has put together a mini cookbook for all the last mintue shoppers out there. We have a great list of tasty treats sure to please any crowd. Submitted by Raunatte Janisch, mother of Woodbury Patch editor Kris Janisch Slice the bacon in fourths. Wrap the bacon around the wiener. Fasten with a tooth pick. Place on a backing sheet. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake at 325 degrees. I turn them every 15 minutes and add a bit more brown sugar. They take about 45 minutes. You could bake them at a higher temperature, but then you really have to watch them. Put in a Crockpot and serve warm.
