Golden Valley Man Charged with Damaging Girlfriend's Property

Police say Steven John Korzenowski told them he broke his girlfriend's belongings because she was "breaking the rules."

A Golden Valley man has been charged with destroying his girlfriend’s belongings, including a $1,200 laptop, telling police that he did it because she was “breaking the rules.” Steven John Korzenowski, 56, is charged with first-degree damage to property, a felony with a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Golden Valley police were called to an apartment in the 600 block of Wesley Commons Drive just after 9 p.m. Dec. 1 when someone reported a domestic assault in progress. Police found a witness on the front steps of the apartment building, restraining Korzenowski, and personal belongings strewn across the front lawn of the building.
