Sherry Tyrrell, Helen Bassett and John Vento officially began their terms as Robbinsdale Area Schools board members on Monday, Jan. 7. The three school board members took the oath of office, administered by Clerk Mark Bomchill, on Monday. For the 2013-2014 school year, Sherry Tyrrell will be chair, Helen Bassett will be vice chair, Tom Walsh will be clerk and Patsy Green will be treasurer. Vento, a Golden Valley resident, is entering his first term as school board member. "I’m very honored and humbled by the citizens of 281 who voted for me," Vento after he was elected to serve on the school board. "I'm excited to get out and meet parents.”
