I love the look of copper on cookware, but copper oxidizes — think tarnish — so these tips will help you clean some of the cookware Santa gave you or that you used to make that delicious holiday meal. Today, I used salt and lemon juice to clean the pan in the photos. I've included some other homemade copper cleaner recipes for you and two commercial products that you can pick up locally at Byerly's and Ace Hardware. Homemade Copper Polishes Lemon Juice and Salt. Make a paste with 2 tablespoons lemon juice and 1 tablespoon salt. Rub on the pot and then wash in warm soapy water, rinse and buff to a beautiful shine.
