The chase reportedly reached speeds of 110 mph.
A driver led Golden Valley police on a chase early Tuesday morning that culminated near Hopkins’ Mainstreet, Hopkins Police Sgt. Michael Glassberg said. The chase began when Golden Valley officers tried to stop the driver at 12:46 a.m. Golden Valley crime analyst Joanne Paul said that the chase orginated near Interstate 394 and Highway 169. Four Golden Valley police officers tried to stop the man during the four-mile pursuit, according to Paul. Audio recorded by Police Clips stated that police reached speeds of 110 mph as they excelerated down southbound Highway 169. Click here to listen to the audio. Brooklyn Center police say two suspects led officers down Highway 169 before they were arrested near Minnetonka Boulevard.
A police chase Thursday morning began in Brooklyn Center and continued through New Hope and Golden Valley, before ending in Minnetonka. At about 2:40 a.m. Jan. 3, a Brooklyn Center police officer spotted two people driving a stolen car in a parking lot near Shingle Creek Parkway and Freeway Boulevard. When the officer tried to stop the car, the driver accelerated and took police on a 14-mile chase. According to Brooklyn Center Police Department Investigative Commander Tim Gannon, an adult male and adult female drove westbound on Interstate 694 and continued southbound on Highway 169 through New Hope and Golden Valley. Burglary suspects led police on a chase for 17 miles early Tuesday morning. The chase ended in Maple Grove, where three men were arrested.
At about 6:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, Golden Valley Police responded to a report of a residential burglary in progress at the 500 block of Meadow Lane North in Golden Valley, according to Golden Valley Crime Analyst Joanne Paul. When police arrived at the scene, Paul said three suspects got in a vehicle and fled the area. Officers pursued the car. Paul later confirmed that the truck used to flee the scene was stolen from St. Paul. "The pursuit continued for 17 miles," Paul said. "Officers from Golden Valley, Plymouth, Maple Grove and Hennepin County Sheriff's Office were involved."
