Playground equipment in North Tyrol Park that was destroyed by a fallen tree during the May 22 tornado will be replaced. The Golden Valley City Council last week approved a bid to replace the equipment. The equipment will be replaced with like items. Before the vote, Council Member Paula Pentel asked staff if there had been any public participation or discussion around the future of North Tyrol Park. But it was also staff in the field looking at, since there was no more shade in the park…

Video: Some Eagerly Await the Opening of Golden Valley Skating Rinks

Golden Valley's skating rinks open Saturday, Dec. 18 and will stay open through Feb. 21, weather permitting. Editor's note: This video incorrectly states the number of Golden Valley parks with skating rinks. The video indicates 16 parks have skating rinks, when in fact the city has 16 rinks scattered throughout 10 parks.
