According to court records, Eric Landers had been charged 15 different times before his run in with law enforcement in December.
On Dec. 14, 38-year-old Eric Landers assaulted three people and stole two cars in a rampage that ended when Landers turned himself in near Uptown. After his arrest, Landers was charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated robbery and two counts of first-degree attempted aggravated robbery, all felonies. But court appearances and run-ins with the law are fairly common for the Brooklyn Center resident. According to Minnesota court records, Landers has been charged with 15 different crimes between 1992 and 2010. In February of 1992, Landers was found guilty of third-degree burglary and two counts of theft. A 38-year-old man faces four charges, including two counts of first-degree aggravated robbery, after police say he took two cars and assaulted three people last week.
In a press release Monday, Dec. 17, Crystal Police Chief Stephanie Fealy confirmed that Jerry Krob was the Crystal police officer involved in last Friday's shooting at a New Hope Holiday gas station. "Officer Krob is a professional, well trained veteran of this department with several commendations," Fealy said in the statement. " I am confident that this investigation will determine that our officer acted in accordance with department policy and it will be determined that this was justified use of force." At about 6 a.m. on Dec. 14, New Hope police responded to a report of a shooting at the gas station. According to a statement released from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, an alleged shooting in Crystal left an officer injured and one in custody.
Updated Dec. 14, 3 p.m. The Minneapolis Police Department turned to Facebook to update the community on events surrounding the arrest of the suspect in an officer-involved. Police confirmed that a man with a gun shot wound was arrested near Humboldt Ave. S. and the Greenway. On their Facebook page, police said: This morning just after 7 a.m. Minneapolis Police officers in the Uptown area responded to several 911 calls from a male indicating that he had been shot at a location outside of Minneapolis. The caller gave several locations for himself and he was eventually located near Humboldt Avenue South and the Greenway inside of a stolen car.
