Marilyn Menth of Crystal/New Hope June 6, 1931 - March 2, 2013 Survived by sons, John, Paul, and Daniel; grandchildren, Jonathan and Michelle; great grandchildren, Kristopher and Jacily; brother, Richard Pearson; nieces and nephews. Spokesperson for Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Interment Golden Valley Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Christ for People with Disabilities. Edward Hudoba of New Hope March 4, 1915 - Feb. 26, 2013 Ed was born on March 4, 1915, in Minneapolis, to Polish immigrants Louis & Mary Hudoba. He attended elementary school at Holy Cross parish and graduated from Edison High School in 1933. At age 20, he joined the CCCs, spending a year in northern Minnesota. He then worked days at the Waterman Waterbury Company while attended Dunwoody Industrial Institute where, in 1941, he completing studies in the sheet metal trade. While rehearsing a role for a play at the Northeast Neighborhood House (the "Nut" House), he met Julie Ann Majkrzak, who would become the love of his life. They were married on June 28, 1941. Ed served in the U.S. Navy-Seabees in WWII and was honorably discharged in 1945. …

Preceded in death by husband, Anthony; daughters, Charlene Odland and Marilyn Hefley. Longtime Minneapolis north-side resident and member of St. Anne’s Church. Fourteen year resident of St. Therese apartments in New Hope. Her example as a mother was a blessing for all her family. Interment Gethsemane Cemetery. Ramona "Mona" Berghoff of New Hope Dec. 4, 1930 - Feb. 2, 2013 Passed away surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Ramona was a kind and gentle soul with a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. She loved life and took joy in the simple pleasures. She loved to travel and saw most of the 50 United States with Dick, her husband of 54 years. Mona (or Gramma B to her grandchildren) had a passion for card games and especially appreciated the chance it allowed to engage in good times with family and friends. Above all, she loved her family who held her close during her final days. Mona worked for School District 281 for over 16 years. William Pupeza, age 86, of New Hope. April 21, 1926 - Jan. 24, 2013 Survived by wife; Grace, Children; Linda (Mike) King, Mark (Kathy) Pupeza, Janice (Mark) Carroll, Karen (Jim) Carlson and Peter Pupeza, grandchildren; Andy, Cris, Toni, Ben, Erick and Jane, great-grandchildren; Reena Saveena, Allison and Emma. Bill was a WWII Veteran and former police officer for the city of New Hope. He also worked many years in the printing paper business. Hawks notch 40-point win over Fridley, extend win streak to 9 games.
The Robbinsdale Cooper girls basketball team's winning streak reached nine on Thursday, as the Hawks defeated the Fridley Tigers 78-38 in Robbinsdale. The win improved Cooper's record to 13-9 overall and 11-1 in North Suburban Conference play. The Hawks got off to a quick start by playing strong team defense and forcing turnovers which led to several points on fastbreaks. Sophomore guard Chelsey McGee scored 17 of her 24 points in the first half, sparking Cooper's quick start. Mcgee's 17 point first half matched the entire offensive production of Fridley as the Hawks led 41-17 at the break.
