Mortenson Continues Work on Chicago Bears’ Halas Hall

The Golden Valley company must finish work by Aug. 1.

Mortenson Construction is keeping up a swift pace in its expansion and updating of Chicago Bears headquarters Halas Hall. The Golden Valley-based company started work as soon as the NFL’s regular season ended Dec. 30 and must complete work on the Lake Forest, IL, facility by Aug. 1, when the Bears start regular season training camp, according to a Mortenson news release. The project will add 30,000 square feet to Halas Hall’s current 100,000 square feet. Vikings Stadium Contract Goes to Mortenson Construction

The Golden Valley-based business that has built sports facilities for the Twins, Wild and Timberwolves will now help build the $975 million stadium for the Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis, according to media reports.

A bid to build the new Minnesota Vikings Stadium has paid off for one Golden Valley company.  Mortenson Construction was named by the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority at its Feb. 15 meeting as the construction manager to build the new sports venue, according to a WCCO.com report. The business will be responsible such items as budget, construction timeline and work schedule.  “We are extremely confident with our selection of Mortenson,” Vikings Vice President of Public Affairs Lester Bagley said. Mortenson Construction Named as Finalist for Vikings Stadium Contract

The Golden Valley-based business remains in the running to lead construction for the new Minnesota Vikings Stadium, according to the Star Tribune.

From initial interest to bidding, the new construction company to lead building the Minnesota Vikings stadium has quickly been narrowed down to two businesses – including one from Golden Valley. Mortenson Construction, according to a Star Tribune report, along with Arizona-based Hunt Construction, have both been named as finalists to build the $975 million sports venue in Minneapolis. Golden Valley Construction Firm Attends Vikings Stadium Meeting

Mortenson Construction was one of six firms showing interest in possibly building the new Minnesota Vikings stadium.

Six construction firms, including one from Golden Valley, met with the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority (MSFA) and the Minnesota Vikings Jan. 11 in a pre-proposal meeting about the new stadium.  Golden Valley-based Mortenson Construction was among the firms to attend.  The firm is “widely considered the favorite to land the job,” according to a Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal post.  “The meeting was held to answer any questions the construction firms had about the Construction Manager RFP which was released on December 7, 2012,” according to a MSFA press release. “The pre-proposal meeting served as a question and answer session for the firms who have expressed interest in developing a proposal to be the construction manager on …
