Closures will continue until the project is completed in mid July.
Drivers will face MnPASS lane closures on Interstate 394 starting next week. Lanes will be closed between Interstate 94 and Highway 100 beginning May 6 in order for crews to replace protective gate arms, the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) announced. The agency will close access to the reversible section from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays. Evening, overnight and weekend closures may also be needed. If those closures do wind up being necessary, MnDOT will provide additional information. The section will be open during major downtown Minneapolis events and during the following times: Crews will complete the project in mid July.

The city will feel the effects of some of the 280 projects statewide.
Hopkins residents will feel the effects of the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s $1.1 billion 2013 road construction season. On Wednesday, MnDOT announced road closings and detours from 280 construction projects—87 projects in the metro and 193 projects in greater Minnesota. Two days after most of the Twin Cities area, including Golden Valley, received more than 10 inches of snow, traveling the roadways remained complicated in spots. On Dec. 11, a rollover on westbound 394 tied up traffic near Golden Valley. On Dec. 12, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation's Twitter feed, a spin-out a westbound 394 on-ramp closed the road during rush hour.
