Pot in Car, Drunk Driving: Golden Valley Arrest Report

A look at recent arrests made by the Golden Valley Police Department.

At about 1 p.m. on Jan. 10, Golden Valley police arrested a 23-year-old Minneapolis man near Golden Valley Road and Noble Drive on six different charges. According to a recent Golden Valley Police Department arrest report, the man’s windshield was cracked, he had “unsafe tires” and expired tabs. As it turns out, the man was driving after suspension and had marijuana in his car. Police Say Gun Involved in BP Gas Station Robbery

Incident reports show that suspects in the early January robbery were armed.

According to a Golden Valley Police Department incident report, the robbery that occurred at the BP Gas Station on Jan. 1 involved a gun. Police say that a 20-year-old male and a 23-year-old woman were victims of the aggravated robbery, which happened around 11:30 p.m. While the robbery was caught on video, no arrests have been made in connection with the crime. A look at recent arrests made by the Golden Valley Police Department.

On New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, Golden Valley police were out in force. In the early morning hours of Jan. 1, officers arrested two drivers on DWI charges. In December, police from Minneapolis, Golden Valley and Hopkins departments arrested more than 100 drunk drivers. Police Nab 104 in Christmas DWI Sweep

Minneapolis, Golden Valley, Hopkins police collaborate with other area agencies.

Warning motorists to "Get sober or get pulled over," area police mounted a campaign against drunk drivers during December. Their efforts, according to the Minneapolis Police Department, netted 104 arrests. Thousands of Twin Cities residents drive to and from area bars every weekend. “DWI patrols are effective to reducing drunk driving activity, but it is clear that the issue remains a real problem that puts our roads in danger,” Minneapolis police Sgt. Rich Lee said in a written statement. Police promised "enhanced" DWI patrols through the end of 2013. According to police, drunk driving crashes accounted for 37 deaths and 106 serious injuries in Hennepin County from 2009 through 2011. 19,887 drivers were arrested for drunk driving in the …

Stolen Tablets, Burglary and Car Theft: Golden Valley Incident Reports

A look at incidents that the Golden Valley Police Department responded to recently.

Golden Valley Police Department responded to the below incidents between Dec. 25 and Dec. 29. Theft Two St. Louis Park women are suspects in a series of shoplifting events that occurred on Christmas day. According to a Golden Valley police incident report, around 4 p.m. on Dec. 25, the two suspects stole gas, cigarettes and food from the Holiday Gas Station at 7925 Wayzata Blvd. A Brooklyn Park man was arrested on Dec. 24 when he tried to steal three $200 tablets from Golden Valley’s Menards. A Crystal man was arrested on Dec. 27 when he tried to “take items”  from Golden Valley’s Lunds & Byerly's and “leave the store without paying for them.” Burglary At 5 p.m. on Dec. 27, a resident at the 1500 block of Douglas Drive North came home to …

Teenage Shoplifting, Burglary: Golden Valley Arrest Report

A look at recent arrests made by Golden Valley police.

On Dec. 28, two teenagers and one juvenile were arrested by Golden Valley police on shoplifting charges, according to a recent Golden Valley arrest report. The incident occurred at 10:43 p.m. Reports show that the three teens were arrested for stealing less than $500 worth of items from a local store. Because a juvenile was involved, the store location is not disclosed. Robbery at Golden Valley’s BP Gas Station

According to Golden Valley police, no arrests have been made.

At 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 1, a robbery occurred at the BP Gas Station on Boone Avenue in Golden Valley. Golden Valley Police Department Crime Analyst Joanne Paul said that four police officers responded to the incident. Paul confirmed that no arrests have been made. “Because it’s an active investigation,  I can’t comment on any of the details at this point,” Paul said. Beginning Jan. 29, every Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. the Golden Valley Police Department will host the Citizen's Police Academy. During classes each week, residents will go behind the scenes at the police station and learn about the following topics: According to the Golden Valley Police Department's website, police hope "there will be a greater awareness and understand of law enforcement’s role in the community through the education provided by the Citizen's Police Academy." To apply for the seven-week course, which is free, Download the Citizen's Academy application and return to it the Golden Valley Police Department.
