A listing of arrests and incidents from the most recent Golden Valley Police report htat include meth possession, stalking and property damages to vehicles.
The following people were arrested by Golden Valley police between April 29 and May 5. (This is not a full listing of all the arrests made during this time in Golden Valley): • A juvenile was arrested April 30 in Golden Valley for assault, obstruction of justice and property damage. • A 38-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested April 29 in Golden Valley for a warrant out for his arrest. • A 35-year-old Minneapolis suspect was arrested May 3 in Golden Valley for fleeing police in a motor vehicle, possession of meth and drug paraphernalia and harassment or stalking. Officers arrested Kenneth Powe, a repeat offender, but the passenger in the back seat fled the scene.
On Feb. 24 at 7:30 a.m., Golden Valley police responded to a report of a person sitting in a residential driveway and throwing trash out the window. Golden Valley Police Department incident reports show that the suspect was parked near the 300 block of Ottawa Avenue South. According to a complaint filed in Hennepin County District Court, multiple police officers witnessed the driver, later identified as Kenneth Powe of St. Paul, driving away from the home. Officers followed the car and turned on their squad lights, forcing the driver to stop the vehicle. Officers at the Golden Valley Police Department responded to reports of fights, vehicle break-ins, and drug activity between Feb. 5 and 10. Feb. 5 Police responded to reports of a man walking around Golden Valley’s ACE Hardware and taking “items off the shelves and placing them in his pockets.” The man, who was described as a Latino male, fled the store with a woman before he could be arrested. Feb. 6 Police received tips that drug activity and possible drug sales was occurring at the 3500 block of Mcnair Drive in Robbinsdale. A man’s temper flared after a woman wouldn’t sell him her car.
Golden Valley Police responded to the following incidents between Jan. 28 and Feb. 3. Jan. 28 A home on the 5000 block of Olson Memorial Highway was broken into while the residents were away from home. No arrests were made. Jan. 29 A Crystal woman parked her car in Golden Valley’s Byerlys parking lot and returned to find her license plates stolen. Police conducted an exterior site evaluation of a home located on the 1700 block of Gettysburg Court and noted several “violations.” The Golden Valley resident was the “object of 50 police calls in the last year.” Jan. 31 A woman’s car window was broken and purse stolen. Golden Valley police arrested the driver at the intersection of Interstate 394 and Highway 169.
On Feb. 3, Golden Valley police arrested a 41-year-old Hopkins man for speeding, drunk driving and driving after cancellation. The man was stopped by the police when he was caught speeding near the intersection of Highway 169 and Interstate 394. According to a Golden Valley incident report, the man lost control of his car and crashed. When police arrested the man, reports show that a breathalyzer test resulted in a .17 blood alcohol level. He was arrested on fourth-degree DWI charges.

A traffic stop led the Golden Valley Police to involve the Hennepin County Violent Offender Task Force.
On Jan. 21, Golden Valley police arrested four men at the intersection of Interstate 394 and Louisiana Avenue South. At about 2:30 a.m., police pulled over a driver for improper lane use. Two of the men in the car were previously convicted of a crime of violence, according to recent Golden Valley arrest reports. Both men were arrested on firearm violations. The other two men were arrested on warrants. Incidents reports show that the case was “handed off” to the Hennepin County Violent Offender Task Force. Beginning Jan. 29, every Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. the Golden Valley Police Department will host the Citizen's Police Academy. During classes each week, residents will go behind the scenes at the police station and learn about the following topics: According to the Golden Valley Police Department's website, police hope "there will be a greater awareness and understand of law enforcement’s role in the community through the education provided by the Citizen's Police Academy." The Golden Valley resident was arrested on fourth-degree DUI charges.
On Dec. 20 at around 9:40 a.m., Golden Valley police arrested a resident for speeding and DUI charges. According to a Golden Valley police incident report, the 58-year-old woman was driving on Rhode Island Avenue North when she veered off the road and crashed into the trees. The woman agreed to blood test and a driver evaluation at the scene, and was arrested. According to the Golden Valley arrest report, between Dec. 17 and Dec. 23, two other people were arrested for drunk driving. Minnesota State Patrol Sgt. A routine traffic stop led to felony drug charges.
During a rainy day on Dec. 15, a Golden Valley police officer noticed that a person driving down Duluth Street failed to turn on his headlights and had no right brake light. Upon pulling the driver over, the man, a 33-year-old Brooklyn Park resident, ran from the vehicle, according to a Golden Valley police incident report. After resisting arrest, the Brooklyn Park man was found to be in possession of controlled substances and had an outstanding felony warrant for arrest. The suspect was arrested on nine different charges, including fifth-degree drug possession, which is a felony offense.
