MINI Cooper Car Dealership Plans Continue to Move Forward in Golden Valley

The Golden Valley City Council held a public hearing and approved preliminary design plans for the new dealership Feb. 5.

The relocation of the only Mini Cooper Dealership in Minnesota to Golden Valley continues to move forward. The Golden Valley City Council unanimously approved preliminary design plans for the construction of a new 29,500 square foot MINI Cooper dealership building on site of the former Oldsmobile building.  If the business receives final approval, the MINI Cooper dealership currently in Bloomington would be relocated to Golden Valley, one of nine in the United States.  A representative of the Penski Automotive Group told the council they estimated the building and relocated business could bring about 50 new jobs to the area, see about 1,000 vehicles a year resulting in $30 million in revenue.  Golden Valley is the “right place for us to be…

New Car Dealership Could Come to Golden Valley

At a meeting this week, the Golden Valley Planning Commission recommended plans for a Motorwerks Mini Cooper dealership.

A request to amend the planned unit development (PUD) permit on the site at 701 Louisiana Avenue South in Golden Valley received a unanimous planning commission recommendation at the Jan. 14 meeting. The proposal suggests the removal of the former Oldsmobile sales building, which would be replaced with a Motorwerks Mini Cooper retail car dealership building, according to documents provided to the planning commission.
