Which Lawn & Garden Center Is The Readers' Choice?

At the end of two weeks of voting, one Golden Valley business rose to the top.

Golden Valley residents say ACE Hardware has the best lawn and garden center. The store off Highway 55 received the most votes in the Readers' Choice poll that began April 16. It is the fifth Readers' Choice winner, since Golden Valley Patch began running polls in late February. Check back Monday for a new Readers' Choice poll.

Can anyone tell me how long this Ace has been in business? Has it always been Ace Hardware in this location? Trying to settle a debate with my dad. :) Thanks! PS, in response to Mr. Anderson - Home Depot, Menards, & Lowes have larger selections, not always better & very rarely better customer service than Kuiper's. Shipment Snafu Snags Hardware Store Business

One local hardware store faces a temporary winter supply shortage on the eve of rough winter weather.

"For hardware stores, bad weather gives you business. You're there to help people in the bad times, whether it's in an ice storm or snowstorm, you're there to help them out." But what happens when a hardware store faces a shipment snafu? That's what Dale Hoffmann, Manager of Kuiper's Ace Hardware Store in Golden Valley is facing after a shipment of approximately $3,000 worth of winter supplies is several days late. And with a wet wintry mix quickly moving into the Twin Cities overnight, it's a race against time for this small, local business.
