Julie, We as a community are very proud of you. You are an example of many dedicated young peopleRead More who are making our community and the world a little bit better. Even more importantly you are an example to dozens of young people who will follow your leadership and make their own contributions. Thank you.

This was the fifth annual Lilac Planting Project event that is a prime example of how a small sparkRead More from an individual's [Dr. Dwight Townes] idea of volunteer community beautification grew to a well established tradition. All volunteers each year are bona fide BridgeBuilders who are in fact creating connections for the people who live and work in Golden Valley. The real reward is seeing the fruits of the labor along Highway 55 from Highway 169 east to Douglas Drive. Thanks first goes to the volunteers and to the contributors [including Byerlys, Caribou Coffee at Byerlys, and to General Mills], the Minnesota Department of Transportation, and to the City Council of Golden Valley who created and supports the Envision Connection Project.

My friends and I decided to volunteer this year, and we are so glad we did! Met some wonderfulRead More people, got some exercise and did something good for the city we love. We'll be back again next year for sure!

I wanna be part of this. When we moved to Minneapolis-St Paul for school in 1992, I learned of theRead More bottle nose and Lilac Way, then the Botany teacher's Theo Wirth Wildflower garden and the Golden Valley garden club. This would be a dream come true. Please add me to the list and let me know the 2013 date planned. Kate at kthisriv@gmail.com

I found a beautiful oil on canvas painting at the thrift store several weeks ago, bought it, andRead More plan to give it to my pastor in October for Pastor Appreciation month. I know that he'll love it because it will remind him of his growing-up years in Holland !! I know that it's worth much much more than the price I paid for it, too. I stop at the shop each Tuesday, when clothing is half price, and look around at everything. The oil painting was a true "God Wink" that surprised me because of its beauty and what the scene will mean to him and his family !! I'm very glad that proceeds from the shop help continue Calvin Christian Schools, too, as many students benefit so much by the Christian education provided !!!
