Situated along Golden Valley Road on the city's northeast side since 1979 is Fire Station #3. The station is never staffed, but thirteen paid on-call firefighters have their equipment at the ready at Station 3 for when there's an emergency situation. The building has a meeting room, kitchen and one office as well as an ATV, a rescue boat (for both water and ice), an engine pumper, a light rescue vehicle and the West Metro SWAT truck. Station 3 is also used as a voting site for elections.
