Located just off of Highway 55 in Golden Valley since the 1950s, the Animal Humane Society is the leading animal welfare organization in the Upper Midwest and serves nearly 40,000 animals a year. The Golden Valley location is one of five in the Twin Cities where people can surrender unwanted pets, adopt pets (of 10 different species) and utilize many other services on-site. Some of those extra services include dog training, microchip and nail clinics, birthday parties, youth camps, pet boarding, cremation services and retail shops.
