Minnesota Renaissance Festival—Oktoberfest

A keg toss and a sauerkraut-eating contest? Sounds like Oktoberfest to me. That’s this weekend’s theme at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival, which is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Events will include stein-holding and best-beard contests. A Bavarian Village will be set up on the grounds at 12364 Chestnut Blvd. in Shakopee. Tickets are $10.50 to $21.95 per person.

Sever’s Corn Maze & Fall Festival

Get lost in the best way possible. It’s the second weekend of the Sever’s Corn Maze, which is open from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. There are a bunch of family-friendly activities on the grounds, including a corn pit, giant slide, pig races, tire mountain and petting zoo. Tickets are $13 for ages 4 and up; the maze and fall festival are free for children 3 and younger. The maze is located at 1100 Canterbury Road in Shakopee.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Cleveland Browns

Here’s hoping the Vikings can win against the Browns. The game starts at noon Sunday, Sept. 22, at Mall of America Field at Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. Minnesota goes into the game with a 0-2 record, after losing to the Bears and the Lions. However, Cleveland also has a 0-2 record after facing the Ravens and Dolphins. Tickets are $17.25 to $150 per person.
