Summer Event Volunteer Opportunities in Golden Valley
Looking for some fun volunteer opportunities this summer? Look no further than your city!
Two upcoming events in Golden Valley needs some volunteers.
If you enjoy interacting with youth and playing carnival games, then the annual Penny Carnival, Friday, July 26, at the Brookview Park large picnic shelter, is for you.
Volunteers are needed for hours from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The carnival runs from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The city needs people to help operate the games, collect pennies, hand out prizes and cultivate the fun for the kids participating. You must enjoy working with youth ages 4 to 12 and be able to work outdoors.

Maybe that's not for you? Then perhaps you could help out at the annual Golden Valley Golf Classic. The Classic is a main fundraiser for the Golden Human Services Fund, which helps serve area residents in times of need. Each year volunteers are needed to help ensure that all aspects of the tournament run smoothly.
The Classic is Friday, July 12 at Brookview Golf Course. Volunteers are needed from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. depending on responsibilities. Volunteers will receive assignments when they report for duty.The city needs volunteers with the ability to work with public and the desire to help with an event where the proceeds go to organizations that help needy Golden Valley residents.
The Golf Classic volunteer positions available are greeters and registration attesters, tournament scorer, refreshments helper, photographer and clean up crews. All positions report to Jeanne Fackler, Recreation Coordinator and staff liaison to the Golden Valley Human Services Fund.
