Community Corner

Saturday: Connect With Others at Golden Valley Bridge Builders Meeting

The event will be at the Courage Center in Golden Valley.

Golden Valley citizens and organizations that serve the community are encouraged to participate in the Bridge Builders event 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Courage Center, 3915 Golden Valley Road in Golden Valley.

Bridge Builders is a citizen-led volunteer organization of local individuals, members of community organizations, and business people who want to connect with others to improve the community or share similar interests. It encourages ideas, forges partnerships, and fosters small scale projects and activities for the benefit of Golden Valley. A few examples that have become annual events include the Lilac Project, Valley Volunteer Day, and the Ice Cream Social.

Each Bridge Builders event includes a presentation, group discussion, and a tour. The Sept. 7 event will feature the “open space” approach, with small group breakout sessions that allow individuals to contribute by self-organizing around issues and ideas that matter to them. The event will conclude with a tour of the Courage Center.
