Weekend Fun in Golden Valley

Golden Valley is home to some great summer events. Here's a look at a few things happening this weekend in town.

 

  • In honor of the city’s 125th Anniversary, a time capsule will be buried near city hall. A small ceremony will take place at Noon, June 24. .
  • It’s the second year in a row the city has offered a farmers market. The , and has about 30 vendors. The market is open every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • This free event takes place at the Chester Bird American Legion on Saturday night, starting at 5:00 p.m. The event includes food, games and fireworks. The mission of the Golden Valley Fire Relief Association is to manage the Association’s pension and benefits, to advance fire prevention and education, and to promote the community.
  • This unique race includes an 8K paddle through the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes, a 5K trail run through Theodore Wirth Park and a 11K bike ride. If you want to participate in the Tri-Loppet there are a few last minute slots still available, or you can check the route and cheer on others.
