Hundreds of children and their parents enjoyed the second Golden Valley Water Day 2013 event July 12 at Scheid Park in Golden Valley.
The city sets up the free event with three giant slip and slides going down the hill of the park. Lines for the slides snaked around the border of the park as children excitedly waited their turn to get slide down the hill. Volunteers and city parks and recreation employees were on hand with fire hoses to keep the slides wet and hand out refreshments.
A DJ with fun music kept kids hopping to the beat and having fun in the sun. And the city's puppet show entertained and was good for lots of laughs in the shade.
