WATCH: Golden Valley Kid's Penny Carnival 2013

Whether you want to spin the wheel and see what prize you get, try to hit the bell at the strongman game, go for a hayride and enjoy some popcorn, it was all fun and games July 26 at the annual Golden Valley Kids Penny Carnival at Brookview Park.

Though the clouds sometimes brought sprinkles of rain in the morning that didn't deter children of all ages (and even a few adults) from bringing their pennies and winning toys and candy prizes at different carnival games.

The event was run by parks and recreation staff and volunteers eager to see smiling faces as children lined up to try their chance at a new game.

The popular event brought hundreds of children to Brookview Park's large shelter area and volunteers young and old came out to help, including Golden Valley Patch Editor Stefanie Briggs.
