Golden Valley Residents Asked to Continue Conserving Water

According to a city of Golden Valley press release, the Joint Water Commission for the cities of Golden Valley, Crystal and New Hope remain under essential-use-only water conservation measures until the Crystal pumping station has been restored to operation.

Monday morning Golden Valley Mayor Shep Harris said the pump is at about 66 percent capacity. He urges residents to continue to conserve water.

"Don't wash your car right now or use your sprinkler system, some people have an automatic sprinkler system and that should be turned off right now," Harris said.

The JWC’s two pumping stations lost power during the weekend storms, but were quickly restored, only to have damage occur at the Crystal station, resulting in extended water conservation requirements.
