Robbinsdale Cooper's Jamie Brazil Takes Sixth At State

Brazil finished Saturday's state tournament at the podium after battling in the fifth-place match

Robbinsdale Cooper’s Jamie Brazil put together a strong first half of the Class AAA state wrestling tournament, but he was unable to sustain that momentum Saturday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

After winning his first two matches and advancing to the 140-pound state semifinals, Brazil lost three straight matches on Saturday to bow out with a sixth place finish at this year’s state tournament.

He lost to Apple Valley’s Brandon Kingsley to start the day, then fell to Cambridge-Isanti’s Cody Skog 10-7 and Farmington’s Carl Elmer 6-3 in the fifth-place match.
