Robbinsdale Cooper's Cruishank Headed To NDSU Lacrosse

The former Hawks standout will join the Bison next spring, the team announced Wednesday

The North Dakota State University men’s lacrosse team announced Wednesday that Robbinsdale Cooper graduate JJ Cruishank will join the team as part of the Bison’s 2012 recruiting class.

Cruishank, a standout attacker for the Hawks during his career, helped lead Cooper to a 4-8 regular season record in 2011. The Hawks lost to Wayzata in the Section 6 first round.

Cruishank led the team with 23 goals and 30 points as a senior. He averaged 2.5 points per game during his senior season.

“JJ has unique [sic] combination of quickness and size at attack,” assistant coach Cameron Pederson said in a news release. “He is going to be a headache for defensemen.”

Men’s lacrosse is a club sport at NDSU. The Bison compete in the Upper Midwest Lacrosse League during the regular season and take part in the MCLA’s Division II tournament during the playoffs.

NDSU compiled an 11-4 overall record in 2011, including a 6-1 mark in the UMLL, and reached the national tournament. The Bison lost 10-8 to Savannah College of Art and Design in the first round.

“This class will help us to reach our goal of a National Championship,” Bosh said. “We were able to add even more size and speed to our roster.”
