Robbinsdale Cooper's Brazil Headed To State Wrestling Semifinals
Brazil won both his Friday matches by fall and is two wins away from a state title
Robbinsdale Cooper’s Jamie Brazil remains on the fast track to a state title after Friday’s Class AAA state meet at the Xcel Energy Center.
Brazil, wrestling at 140 pounds, won both his matches and will compete Saturday at 11:15 a.m. against Hastings’ Colten LeChance in the championship semifinals. He is two wins away from a state championship.
Brazil beat White Bear Lake’s Duncan Potter and Maple Grove’s Frank Cramer, both by fall, en route to the semifinal match.

He is the lone Cooper wrestler out of four to advance past Friday. Sami Abdisa, Mickel Christensen and Nate Thome all were eliminated.
Robbinsdale Armstrong still has one wrestler remaining in contention. Justin Wheaton lost his first round match at 215 pounds but rebounded to beat Sauk Rapids’ Tyler Rudy 10-4. He will face Stillwater Area’s Mitchell Elmer to begin competition on Saturday.
