Robbinsdale Armstrong's Greenberg Takes 31st At State

Armstrong senior Lauren Johnson takes 49th in girls Class AAA state tournament

Robbinsdale Armstrong junior Michael Greenberg finished the Class AAA state tournament with a final score of 154 at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids.

Greenberg shot an 80 on the final day of the state tournament, securing a tie for 31st overall at the meet. Forest Lake’s Max Kelly won the tournament with a 143.

Greenberg finished Tuesday’s first round tied for 11th overall with a round of 74. On Wednesday, he was unable to maintain consistency through both the East and West nine holes. He shot a 37 on the West, but a 43 on the East sent him back in the final standings.

In the team competition, Wayzata and Rogers finished tied for the state championship. Wayzata shot a 291 on the final day to tie Rogers with a 592 overall score.

On the girls side, Armstrong senior Lauren Johnson finished tied for 49th overall with a tournament score of 182.

Cretin-Derham Hall freshman Celia Kuenster and Stillwater Area’s Cassie Deeg finished tied for first place on Wednesday with a 148. On the team side, Wayzata won the state championship by shooting a 661. Stillwater finished second with a 668 team score.
