Got a Super Bowl Recipe? Share It With Us

We want to know some of your party favorites for the big game.

Truth be told, I’m not much of a football fan. Despite my husband’s best attempts to teach me, I don’t know the difference between a sack and safety.

My husband, on the other hand, is an avid Steelers fan. Even though Big Ben and the boys were knocked out of the competition, we’ll still watch the Super Bowl. Yes, even I will watch that game, not because I’ve finally seen the light and want to embrace this American tradition, but because I want to watch the commercials. Plus, it’s a great excuse to have a party!

Whether you’re planning to watch the game at home with a few buddies or are inviting the entire neighborhood over to pig out in front of the flat screen, Patch wants to help you prepare for your rowdy, jersey-wearing guests. We want you to send us your favorite party recipes. Maybe you make a “Giant” dip platter or killer “New England” chowder – either way – we want you to post your recipe in the comments section below.

Other local Patch sites will also collect recipes and before the big game we’ll post a mini cookbook.

Here’s a fan-favorite from my recipe box:

Chipped Beef Dip

  • 1 ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 1 tsp. dillweed
  • 1 pkg chipped beef (typically found near the tuna fish at the grocery store)
  • 1 loaf pumpernickel bread

Put chipped beef in a chopper and then mix all ingredients in a bowl. Rip pumpernickel bread into pieces and dunk in the dip.

For a cool presentation you could buy an uncut circular loaf of pumpernickel bread, cut out the top (like a bread bowl) and fill with the dip. Place the ripped pieces all around it.
