Breck's Laorr Wins Class AA Girls Golf Title
The Mustangs senior shot a 71 on the final day to claim the state championship in Jordan
Breck senior Anna Laorr overcame a one-stroke deficit Thursday and secured the Class AA state girls golf championship at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan.
Laorr, who finished third overall last year with a 154, followed up her 76 performance in the first round with a 71 on Day 2. The effort was enough to overcome a single stroke deficit from the first day and secure a 147 for the tournament.
Becker’s Kourtney Williams finished second with a 149. Jackson County Central’s Kaylee Benson, who led after one round, finished third at 151.

Laorr’s teammate, senior Kayla Mork, finished the tournament tied with two other golfers for 19th place overall. She shot a 169 during the two-day tournament.
Red Wing won the team tournament with a two-day total of 641. Detroit Lakes took second at 658, and Minnewaska finished third with a 670.

In the boys state tournament, Breck senior Eric Laorr finished tied for 15th overall with a 150 two-day score. He tied with three other golfers with a 150.
Marshall’s Max Deutz finished first in the boys tournament with a 143. In the team competition, Detroit Lakes won with a 606. Marshall took second at 608, and Staples Motley and Orono tied for third with a 610. Orono had won the previous three state championships leading into this season.
