Breck Basketball Coach, Fallen Lawyer Heads to Stillwater

The state Supreme Court suspended Matthew McCollister from practicing law for at least 30 days.

Lawyer and former Breck School boys’ basketball coach Matthew McCollister has taken a job with St. Croix Preparatory Academy in Stillwater—a move that comes in the wake of his suspension by the state Supreme Court, the Star Tribune reported.

On May 16, the court suspended McCollister from practicing law for at least 30 days and ordered him to pay $900 in costs. He admitted diverting clients to a competing firm. McCollister submitted his resignation to Breck after the Golden Valley team’s winning season.
