Big Second Half Sinks Breck Football
DeLaSalle scored 28 unanswered points in the second half to beat the Mustangs 46-21
The football team couldn’t hang with Tri-Metro Conference rival DeLaSalle for four quarters on Friday, dropping a 46-21 decision to the Islanders at McKnights Stadium in Golden Valley.
The Mustangs (3-3, 3-3 Tri-Metro Conference) looked poised to pull off the upset early in the contest with two quick first quarter scores to take a 14-0 lead. Quarterback Austin Lommen found senior wideout Kasey Robinson in the back of the end zone for an early touchdown strike, and with 3:05 remaining in the quarter cornerback Tyler Hudson returned an interception 57 yards for a touchdown to take a two-score lead.
But DeLaSalle would come back.
