Winkley is Rotary's Business Organization of the Year

The Golden Valley Rotary Club honored Winkley Orthotics and Prosthetics Company with the club's Business Organization of the Year award on Tuesday, Oct. 22. 

"Winkley was chosen for their long-time commitment to helping people with physical disabilities have a better life," said Betsy Scheurer Anderson, Golden Valley Rotary President.

Winkley is the largest locally owned orthotics and prosthetics manufacturer and provider in the area, with six locations in the Twin Cities metro area and two in Wisconsin. The company was started in 1888, and has been headquartered in Golden Valley since 1978. Products include prosthetics that replace body parts, such as legs and arms, and orthotics that provide support to limbs, backs and more.

The fifth generation of the family owned business, Alex Gruman and his sister Amalia Gruman, accepted the award on behalf of Greg Gruman, their father, and Winkley's president and CEO.

Previous winners of the award have included: Golden Valley American Legion Chester Bird Post 523, Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery, Golden Valley Golf and Country Club, General Mills, Courage Center, and Armstrong, Torseth, Skold and Rydeen (ATS&R).
