Thomle named Rotarian of the Year

Adrienne Thomle claims to have "a very boring life," but she holds three patents, sits on international boards of standards, is an executive with a Fortune 100 company and is a committed volunteer, known for her leadership and devotion to community service. For her efforts, Thomle was named this year's Golden Valley Rotarian of the Year at the club's 14th Annual Awards Ceremony, June 18.

"You exemplify Rotary's motto, Service Above Self, with your many years of leadership and work on behalf of the club in Community Service," reads a plaque presented to Thomle by last year's Rotarian of the Year, Kathy Skadsberg. A few examples of Thomle's service to the club includes chairing and coordinating "Cook for Kids" at Minneapolis Crisis Nursery, organizing Rotary's presence at Golden Valley Days, chairing Students' Academic Scholarships and Service Above Self Awards and chairing the Contributions Committee.

In her professional life, Thomle is currently a Global Product Manager for Honeywell, Inc. She is the global expert for airside economizer controls--and demand control ventilation having been responsible for the development of Honeywell economizer products since 1992. She has degrees in mechanical engineering and management, and holds three patents on carbon dioxide sensing applications in buildings.
