Rotary Club Awards Scholarships

The Golden Valley Rotary awarded 15 students with a total of $5,000 in scholarship money.

Fifteen students from the "A" School, an alternative school within Robbinsdale Armstrong High School, were recognized with $5,000 in college scholarships from the Rotary Club of Golden Valley for their participation in STRIVE.

The Golden Valley Rotary honored 15 students with scholarships ranging from $100 to $1,000, totaling $5,000 in scholarship money. All the students are from the “A” School, an alternative school within Robbinsdale Armstrong High School.

Scholarships were awarded for their participation in STRIVE, or “Students Taking a Renewed Interest in the Value of Education.” STRIVE is a national Rotary program created to help students with academic challenges get the maximum benefit from their final year of high school.

Among those recognized was Kiara Brown, who plans to attend North Dakota State University. Brown had the highest overall GPA of the strive students. She received the top award, $1,000.
