Robbinsdale Schools: Now is a Great Time for Early Childhood Screening

The district says December and January are perfect months for screening.

Editor's Note: The following content was provided by Tia Clasen, communications director for the Robbinsdale Area Schools.

and Robbinsdale Area Schools Early Childhood wants all children to enter kindergarten well prepared so they are successful students.  Early childhood screening is a free, quick and simple check of how your child is growing and developing.  It is required by the state of Minnesota for all children prior to entrance in kindergarten, and is preferred at age 3, but can be done at 4 or 5 years old.  Results are based on your child’s age at the time of screening.

Screening can detect possible health or learning concerns, so children can get help before they start kindergarten.  Because the screening office is very busy during spring, and closed in the summer, December and January are prime months to get your child screened.  The screening takes about an hour.
