Robbinsdale Employee Named Educator of the Year

Victoria Arabanos was awarded the honor by Education Minnesota, a group that represents teachers and educators throughout the state.

In a statement released Nov. 8, Education Minnesota announced that Victoria Arabanos would be named the Education Support Professional of the Year for 2013.

Arabanos works at Plymouth Middle School and supervises in-school suspension. Arabanos has also spent time as volunteer assistant coach for the STEP dance team at Sandburg Middle School. Currently she volunteers with Plymouth Middle School's rugby team.

"Mrs. Arabanos is someone that people trust and respect," Krista Range, assistant principal at Plymouth Middle School, said in the release. "She is truly an inspiration to everyone."

According to the statement, Arabanos is vice president of her local union and is a building representative for the Robbinsdale Federation of Teachers Education Assistants.

Abrabanos is no stranger to Patch. In January of 2012, she participated in a question and answer article where she was recognized for her work as a paraprofessional during Paraprofessional Recognition Week. Read more about Abrabanos here.
