Robbinsdale Cooper High School Begins Search for New Principal

Robbinsdale Cooper High School Principal Michael Favor will begin a new role as Executive Director of Student Services and Secondary Schools beginning July 1.

At a recent school board meeting, the Robbinsdale Area School Board approved the recommendation that Robbinsdale Cooper High School Principal Michael Favor be named the district’s Executive Director of Student Services and Secondary Schools, beginning July 1.  This is part of a reorganization of administrative duties following the announcement that the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning, Gayle Walkowiak, will retire at the end of June.

Mr. Favor has twelve years of administrative experience and educational leadership.  He has been with Robbinsdale Area Schools since 2007; prior to that, he was principal at North Community High School in Minneapolis and an assistant principal and dean of students at St. Louis Park High School.

Principal Favor has a Bachelor’s degree in Science from the University of North Dakota; a Master’s degree in Urban Education from Hamline University; a Sixth Year Licensure and Certification from St. Cloud State University, and a Superintendent licensure also from St. Cloud State.  He is currently enrolled in the Education Doctorate program at St. Cloud State.

The district has begun the search for a new principal for Cooper High School, and will have one in place prior to the end of this school year, ensuring a smooth transition for the school, students, staff and families.
