Photos: Benilde-St. Margaret's Welcomes Freshmen

More than 200 freshmen attended orientation Monday before kicking off the school year Tuesday.

The Benilde-St. Margaret's school year got off to a rousing start on Monday.

Juniors and seniors, along with staff and faculty, helped welcome in roughly 230 freshmen on orientation day. The new students were greeted in the gym by a row of older students—all cheering and offering high-fives—as well as thumping dance music.

The freshmen then had a full day of fun activities and were able to walk to all of their classes—all in an effort to make them feel comfortable in their new surroundings.

New seventh-graders also received a warm welcome of their own in a separate ceremony.

The school's students officially started the school year Tuesday. and Hopkins students start school next week.
