Hopkins, Robbinsdale Cancel School for Second Day in a Row

Tuesday's high is expected to be -1 degrees Fahrenheit.

With the Twin Cities facing yet another day of dangerously cold temperatures, both Hopkins and Robbinsdale have called off class Tuesday.

In Hopkins schools, there will be no Ready 4 K, Early Childhood Special Education classes or Early Childhood Family Education classes, the district announced. Kaleidoscope and Stepping Stones will be open. Kids & Co. will be available all day for those who are normally scheduled in KinderConnection, before-school and/or after-school programs.

In Robbinsdale, schools will be closed and all school-sponsored events, activities, and athletics are cancelled. Adult education classes, community education, early childhood, and early childhood family education classes and events will also be cancelled.

The Adventure Club site at Neill Elementary School will open at  8 a.m. for families that are currently enrolled in any of Robbinsdale’s Adventure Club programs.

The National Weather Service is forecasting Tuesday’s high to be -1 degrees Fahrenheit, with wind chills as low as -40.
