Cooper Students To Sing During Obama's Visit

President Barack Obama will be in Golden Valley Friday and local students will sing the National Anthem at the event.

President Barack Obama will visit the Twin Cities this Friday. One of his two stops will be at Honeywell, based in Golden Valley.

According to the Star Tribune, Obama will discuss the economy while visiting Honeywell at noon this Friday. As part of his talk, Obama will discuss his “To-do List.” This five-point plan includes legislation that could allow more mortgage financing, cut corporate tax breaks and create jobs for veterans.

Before Obama speaks, students will sing the National Anthem. Robbinsdale Area Schools Spokesperson Tia Clasen released this statement Thursday afternoon:

It's been confirmed that at President Obama's visit to Honeywell tomorrow, the Robbinsdale Cooper High School Chamber Choir will sing the National Anthem. This is very exciting news for the students - many of whom are seniors. The last day of school for seniors in our district is tomorrow, so they are spending their last day of their K-12 education careers singing with the President in the audience.

While in town Obama will also attend fundraisers at a Bachelor Farmer, a Minneapolis restaurant owned by Governor Mark Dayton’s sons.
