For Robbinsdale Armstrong High School students, the week of Oct. 1-6 is an anticipated time of year. This year, the homecoming game will take place on Oct. 5 with the dance on Oct. 6.
Here are the details:
The Armstrong Parent Association will host a community parade at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, to celebrate Armstrong High School’s homecoming. The parade will feature AHS homecoming royalty, school officials and representatives from many of the high school’s sports teams, clubs and other organized groups. Groups from Plymouth Middle School and neighboring Robbinsdale Area School elementary schools are also expected to participate. The parade will start in the school's upper parking lot (located on the school’s Eastern border). It will proceed west down 36th Avenue North to Medicine Lake Boulevard East, then south to the school’s lower parking lot. The parade concludes in front of the AHS tennis courts.
Following the parade, students, staff, families and football fans and of all ages are invited to tailgate in the Armstrong parking lot.
The Armstrong High School homecoming football game will kick off at 7 p.m. when the Falcons take on the Elk River Elks.
The dance is on Saturday night, Oct. 6, from 8-11p.m. Tickets cost $5 in advance, $6 at the door. Tickets are for sale during all lunches and before or after school. Please stop by the bookkeeper’s office and purchase to purchase tickets.
