Area Schools to Participate in Conference Music Festival

Bands and choirs from 11 schools will flock to Armstrong High School Monday for the Northwest Suburban Conference Music Festival.

Robbinsdale Armstrong High School students don’t have class on Monday, but that doesn’t mean that the school won’t be full of activity.

Band and choir members from 11 different schools will be at the school participating in the Northwest Suburban Conference Music Festival--a day-long event where students perform and critique various pieces of music.

According to the festival website, student-musicians write their own concert critiques and share them with their director, which gives kids the opportunity to “listen to music with understanding, and celebrate the artistic achievements of other student-musicians.”

A number of accomplished guest conductors will work with the students during the festival.

The day will come to an end at 7 p.m. when the All-Conference Band and Orchestra members play in the grand finale concert.
