Robbinsdale Cooper Marching Band Presents KA-BOOM

Oct. 15, 2013 - Enjoy an evening of thrilling musical adventure as the Robbinsdale Cooper High School Marching Band presents “KA-BOOM!” from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1 at Robbinsdale Cooper High School. All proceeds will support Cooper’s Marching Hawks and their first ever band trip. WCCO-TV personality Jason DeRusha will be master of ceremonies for the event.

“I am excited to showcase the Cooper Marching Band on stage where you will have an up close vantage point of the marching basics and core sound they produce,” Marching Band Director Mary James said. “The students are looking forward to presenting their half time show in a new venue as well as presenting their pre-game music and a few new songs that are sure to surprise the audience.”

“KA-BOOM!” is the Marching Hawks  second annual indoor concert, and they will perform music from Cirque du Soleil’s epic adventure show, “KA.” The Shady Oak Groove Society, a favorite from last year’s concert, will also perform. This group of talented Twin Cities musicians has expanded and will bring on the funk with its energetic style, steeped in the traditions of groups such as Tower of Power, Earth Wind and Fire, and Parliament-Funkadelic.

Also joining in the concert fun for the first time will be the new Cooper High School Color Guard, whose artistry brings an exciting added dimension to the marching band’s performance. Thanks to the support of family, friends, and the community, the Marching Hawks will be wearing their new band uniforms.

Advance tickets are $10 each, $15 at the door. Seating is general admission. To order tickets, click here to download an order form or call 763-504-8543.
