Where to Watch the Presidential Debate in Golden Valley

The first presidential debate will take place tonight at 8 p.m. and there are a number of ways that Golden Valley residents can tune in.

The first presidential debate between President Barack Obama and former Gov. Mitt Romney will take place Wednesday night. The debate on domestic policy airs live at 8 p.m. from the University of Denver. Jim Lehrer of PBS' NewsHour will moderate.

If you're hoping to watch the debate in good company, there are a few places in Golden Valley that will tune in:

Schuller's Tavern

Where: 7345 Country Club Dr.

Specials: Go to Schuller's early and take advantage of their happy hour, which ends at 6 p.m. It includes: $2.50 off domestic pints, $3 domestic bottles, $3 you-call-it rails, $3 off house wines.

Mort's Delicatessen

Where: 525 Winnetka Ave. N.

Hours: Mort's closes at 9, but employees said the debate would be on TV until then.

Doolittles Woodfire Grill

Where: 550 Winnetka Ave. N.

Specials: Starting at 9 p.m., tap beer, bottled beer, cocktails and wine by the glass are all $1 off.

*The TV at Doolittles is muted, but employees said closed captions will be on. This is a good place to go for a quieter viewing experience.
