Senate District 49 candidate Keith Downey (R-Edina) was among those who made the guest list, though Downey said he hadn't actually received an invitation as of Wednesday.

"I'm not sure there's a need to debate a football player outside of my district," Downey said.

On Thursday afternoon, Kluwe took to Twitter to provide an update on whether he'd found an opponent.

"As of now the empty chair is still my leading debate opponent. We'll be at The Brave New Workshop tomorrow at 5pm to discuss things," he tweeted.

Use the embedded video above to watch along and see if anyone actually shows up to debate Kluwe or if he's forced to handle things Eastwood-style and argue with an empty chair.
