Mr. Fields, genuine civility from the right is commendable and appreciated. Unfortantely your relstive moderation most likely means you won't win the GOP nomination. Since you look at various news sources, you might want to factor in today's The Economist article. www.theeconomist/node/21542180.

Kevin You make some very interesting Points and Chris I think you have tried to cover some of the points. All I am is rhetoric, but I look at 14 trillion debt gong to 18 trillion that is not rhetoric.

3 and 4 dollar gas is not rhetoric

And you will have social security and medicare, as long as there are those in are Congress who do not try and destroy it. Everyone has been paying into both medicare and social security. The problem is that the money to reimburse it is not there. You pay into social security, and all the excess goes to gov general fund in the form of treasury bonds. If the money isn't there to pay it back with that interest, then there is a problem. This is why you have all this privatization talk. And we don't trust that either, do we? The problem with medicare payments were not that the gov wasn't paying, it was those insurance companies that used to be part of that process that would hold on to those payments and not pay the medical industry for too long of time. There was fraud there too, and even doctors offices (which are run by large management) had their errors as well. This cut has not hurt anyone, it was to cut the crap out, which means something. Doctors, under large managements, take a bigger cut. Fred and Fran were a problem, but they did not start this problem either. Regulation to help control that, that has been fought against in our Consumer Protection Agency and watered down by those lobbying hard against it, is another problem. Any good that is tried is fought against - continuously and the rhetoric that is used - you use - which allows you to be part of the problem.

There are several possible definitions for the word "Rhetoric". One definition is to communicate. an idea effectively. Dennis has done a very good job. Chris Fields has done a pretty good job. If anyone thinks Mr.Fields platform is in perfect pitch with Conservative principles, you might want to look again. He is closer to Conservative ideas than Ellison is. Communist China is closer to Conservative principles than Ellison. That last sentence which exaggerates the truth is another example of "Rhetoric". HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!
